Point San Pedro Road Medians
The City of San Rafael and a recently formed Point San Pedro Medians
Committee, a committee of concerned area residents, invite you to
participate in the beautification of the Point San Pedro Road medians –
we call it “Creating a Garden Gateway to Our Neighborhoods”. Due
to budget constraints within the City of San Rafael and County of
Marin, landscaping and maintenance of the medians from Union Street to
China Camp has been minimal over the past ten years. We believe
that donations to this effort will yield a high return in making our
community a desirable place to own a home and enhance community pride
and enjoyment.
The Committee has developed alternative plans for landscaping and
maintenance of the medians. These plans are currently being
reviewed by the Community in public meetings. The Committee has
explored alternative means of funding and has settled on presenting to
the Community the alternative of forming a Benefit Assessment
District.
Funds donated to Friends of San Rafael will support the process
required to form a Benefit Assessment District. Such a District has the
advantage of providing a stable source of funding to allow the
financing of the initial landscaping and assuring that the landscaping
is well maintained. Funds collected will be used for community
education, necessary financial studies, and the eventual balloting
process.
