The Annual San Rafael Parade of Lights and Winter Wonderland has been a community favorite for over thirty years where San Rafael residents, friends and families have gathered at sunset the day after Thanksgiving on the corner Fourth Street & E Street and joined in a candlelight procession down Fourth Street while singing Holiday Songs.

Ten years ago, the snow sledding on A Street was added to enhance the Parade of Light festivities. The first official day of the Holiday shopping season was complete with Santa’s arrival and The Holiday Tree lighting ceremony at the end of the parade.

Over the past 10 years the San Rafael Parade of Lights and Winter Wonderland has grown into a two-day event complete with free snow sledding, a holiday marketplace, children’s activities, a large festive parade and much more. The event has created a great feeling of togetherness in Downtown San Rafael following Thanksgiving Day.
